Groombridge WI meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 8 pm, usually in the Groombridge Village Hall.
Our meetings are great fun, really varied and our annual calendar is developed in response to our members' interests. We always have a selection of delicious sweet and savoury treats provided by a rota of members, and we serve tea, coffee, red & white wine and soft drinks. We have members of all ages from the village & surrounding areas and new members are always welcome. So whether you have lived here for years or are new to the area, come and join in, we'd love to see you!
In addition to our monthly meetings we have two special interest groups: Pins & Needles Craft Group and Book Club. For more details click on the appropriate group from the menu bar.
Next Meeting: 8pm Thursday 24 January Living on a Pound a Day with Lesley Negus
Here is some information about Lesley who lives in East Sussex
"I love gardening, cooking, walking, getting involved in my local WI and generally creating something out of nothing. I make greetings cards, clothes, I love to knit, but not many people want knitted things nowadays.
On my Blog, my intention is to build, a week at a time, meal plans, to help you to feed yourself for £1 a day. Week One, for instance, is based around the proteins in red lentils, chickpeas and bacon and will feed 2 adults. There are 11 weekly meal plans now, plus 3 Christmas week plans, Valentines Day celebration meals and other bits and bobs. And over 400 – 400!- recipes, all working on the £1 a day budget."
